Sonic Crossworlds is Go!

We once again interrupt your regularly scheduled Sonic content to bring you some other Sonic content. Sega has given the thumbs-up of approval to the Sonic Racing Crossworlds statue we sent them a few weeks ago for final review. This means that the statue now moves ahead to enter actual manufacturing at scale, bringing it a huge step closer to the display shelves of fans who preordered the Special Edition.

As for what the final approvals process looks like, well, it largely consists of several producers taking receipt of the sample and giving it a careful examination to confirm its physical quality, visual accuracy, and proper functioning. There was a small exchange to discuss where to draw the line between representing minute fine detail and ensuring consistency of quality and appearance across the entire manufacturing run, and ultimately everyone at both LRG and Sega agreed that we’ve created a piece that looks great and that will look equally excellent for everyone who receives one.

How it started/how it’s going

All in all, the Crossworlds statue has gone smoothly, which bodes well for the Sonic X Shadow Generations statue. The manufacturer is still working on the final sample piece for that one, which is a slow process. But we have our fingers crossed that we’ll have news and images to share before too long.
