Your burning Sonic X Shadow Generations questions—answered!
April 03 2026

A couple of weeks back, we put out a call to the Limited Run community to send us any questions they (you!) may have about the recent delay we announced for the Sonic X Shadow Generations collector’s edition and the promise we made to take a mulligan on the statue featured in that set. You didn’t disappoint! We’ve received a ton of questions.
For this week’s update, we’ve selected six submissions that represent the most commonly asked questions. If you don’t see the question that you submitted here, don’t worry—we’re still making our way through the set. Hopefully, though, these answers will help shed more light into our plans and efforts to put things right.
Jeremy asks: “Hi! When you said ‘quality assurance by real human eyes’ in your statement about the statue, do you mean that there was zero human quality assurance before? Was it all just automated or done by AI?? What was the QA process like before? Thanks!”
LRG: No, not at all. We’ve always used a human-based QA process! We simply wanted to reinforce our commitment to improving our quality checks going forward and assure you that we’re not relying on automated processes. We have completely overhauled how we approach the way we handle QA in order to make sure that we are fully in line with industry standards and best practices. It’s important for us to avoid running afoul of the issues that affected the first batch of Sonic X Shadow Generations statues again.
Katie: “I never got the collection box after the statue issue happened, only the game. I’ve gotten no answer on whether people who haven’t gotten the box yet will still get it. Am I still going to get the collection box set once things are fixed?”
LRG: Yes, anyone who didn’t receive the original statue will absolutely receive the updated replacement once they are ready. If you would like to confirm that your order is still active, you can reach out to our support team and they will assist you.
Jawed: “I pre-ordered Sonic X Shadow Generations back in 2024. But with all that waiting, I would like a refund. How do I proceed? I’ve received the game but not the rest of the collectors edition.” I proceed? I’ve received the game but not the rest of the collectors edition.”
LRG: We’re sorry to hear that you want a refund, but we’ll make it as easy as possible for you. You can reach out to our support team here and they’ll get you taken care of.
k: “Will the Dreamcast base also be updated? The ones sent out were just thin hollow shells that seem likely to break.”
LRG: Short answer: yes. You can learn more about that in last week’s blog post, where we shared a render of the revamped Dreamcast base, complete with improved structural reinforcement.
RICARDO: “I want to know if this delay means that the collector’s edition is being remade from scratch, since there is a one-year added to the wait. If not, why was the collectors edition delayed?”
LRG: Yes, the delay happened because we’re reworking the collector’s edition! Or at least the statue—the rest of the Sonic X Shadow Generations CE will be unchanged from what we originally announced. But redesigning the statue and having new units manufactured to replace the old ones will take some time, which resulted in the delay that we’ve announced.
Yoda: “As someone who has yet to receive anything, would I still be able to get the special item teased in the first blog. Thank you.”
LRG: Yes, anyone who keeps their order despite the delay will receive the updated statue, as well as the bonus that we teased.
Thanks for your questions! We’ll be fielding more of them in the weeks ahead.
